Managing Director – Training and Aviation
Babcock International is offering two senior leadership roles within our Defence and Aerospace sector. One role will lead the Training unit and the other will oversee the UK Aviation business. These positions are full‑time, 37 hours per week, hybrid working arrangements and are part of the company’s rapid growth and transformation strategy.
Role Overview
As Managing Director you will define strategy, deliver complex operations, and foster a high‑performance, inclusive culture. You will lead large‑scale regulated contracts, manage P&L, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive growth through innovation and customer‑centric solutions.

Qualifications & Experience
* Leading large‑scale, complex regulated contracts with full financial accountability.
* Inspiring leadership of diverse teams in high‑pressure environments.
* Strategic thinking with a proven growth mindset.
* Building inclusive, safety‑first cultures with high engagement.
* Strong commercial acumen, risk management expertise, and P&L ownership.
* Substantial experience running a P&L or large programme of equivalent size and scale.
* Extensive ability to lead teams in both scale and complexity.
* Experience of stakeholder and customer management.
Assessment Process
Applications must include a CV and cover letter outlining experience against the key parameters. Shortlisted candidates will attend an assessment centre on 8th December in Bristol, followed by a final interview in London on 10th December. Psychometric assessments will also be conducted as part of the process.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC). National security clearance and trade control restrictions may affect eligibility. Details can be found at the UK government vetting website.
