We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Yorkshire Region, working across our West Yorkshire sites consisting of HMP Leeds (category B remand), HMP Wakefield (category A high secure prison), and HMP Wealstun (category C prison). This role offers a varied work schedule and patient group, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team across all three sites, including other Psychiatrists.
About the role
The Consultant Psychiatrist will provide clinical care, assessment, and treatment to patients on site, participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead senior mental health clinicians on service developments, and provide clinical supervision. They will work within the multidisciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in complex case reviews. The role will include 40 hours per week with the following session split:
* 2 sessions at HMP Leeds
* 3 sessions at HMP Wakefield
* 3 sessions at HMP Wealstun
* 2 sessions CPD day
If you are looking for part-time hours, we may be able to split the sessions into a job share.
Salary
Annual salary up to £196,736 per annum – FTE, depending on experience. This will be pro rata for a part-time role.

What we’ll look for in you
* Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
* Specialist registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
* Approved under section 12(2) of the MHS 1983
* Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
* Up-to-date knowledge in adult psychiatry and PD
* Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation
