The Team
Our pension administrators support a wide range of trust‑based company pension schemes, including defined benefit, defined contribution, career average revalued earnings, and hybrid schemes. Key services include:
* Scheme administration
* Communication
* Scam identification
* Payroll services
* Pension scheme accounting
* De‑risking projects
* Technical consultancy
Implementation Services (IST) Overview
IST provides specialist technical, IT and business expertise to support the XPS Administration business across our national offices. The key support areas are:
* Transition activity
* Calculation support
* Business interface with IT services
* Management reporting
Key Responsibilities
Transition Activity
* Install Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution schemes onto our administration system, Aurora.
* Provide technical contributions to the successful completion of transition projects, meeting administration teams’ requirements.
* Own all installation processes from setup to completion, including attendance at project meetings, consultation on technical processes, and maintenance of technical documents.
* Perform technical work such as analysis of administration data sets, creation of calculation specifications, test packs for system automation, regression and user acceptance testing.
* Manage the technical installation delivery schedule.
Calculation Support
* Support existing clients through new calculation automation, amendments to existing automation and administration project teams.
* Collaborate closely with administration teams, client relationship managers, APT and third parties.
Internal Process
* Participate in continuous improvement, review and development of team processes.
* Contribute to wider Implementation Services on technical matters and support knowledge transfer and mentorship.
* Undertake other activities of a similar nature as required by the business.
Essential Qualifications
* Proven experience working within an administration team or system support role in the pensions industry, covering DB/DC/CARE/Public Sector/Master Trust arrangements.
* IT proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
* Experience with common pension administration systems and third‑party IT suppliers (e.g. PenScope, Compendia, ProFund).
* Knowledge of benefit structures and calculation requirements for DB, DC and hybrid pension schemes.
* Excellent organisational, planning and multi‑tasking skills.
* Ability to work within a multi‑disciplined team, influencing decisions amid conflicting priorities.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and capacity for lateral thinking.
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality and deadlines.
* Customer‑focused approach to delivery.
Desirable Qualifications
* Understanding of programming languages such as SQL or C#.
* Strong A‑Level or equivalent qualifications.
* Stakeholder management skills.
* Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills at all levels.
* Documentation creation and management.
* Effective interpersonal skills and long‑term relationship building.
* Big‑picture thinking and adaptability to change.
