Job summary
These are small but busy services with a friendly team comprising one B7 Occupational Therapist, one B7 Physiotherapist, one B6 Physiotherapist, a Rehabilitations Engineer and three Administrators. We are looking for a Team Lead to complete the team. The services run from two locations in modern NHS buildings with excellent clinic facilities close to other NHS teams.
The Team Lead will be supported by our Regional Therapist and will form part of the national Clinical Lead Group, which meets weekly for information sharing and peer support. The service is led by the Head of Clinical Services, a member of the Board, who ensures that Ross Care services are clinically led and operate to the highest standards of practice and safety.

Main duties of the job
* Provide clinical leadership to the wheelchair service team.
* Develop staff and the service itself.
* Build contact with other services, engage with Ross Care managers and operational teams.
* Deliver a small but complex caseload combined with management duties.
* Hold regular meetings with the Regional Therapist and the Head of Clinical Services.

Job description and responsibilities
To provide clinical leadership and expertise to the wheelchair service clinical team and other members, from a background of Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy. The post holder will run clinics in Tameside and Oldham as well as Wigan Wheelchair Services and provide clinical leadership at both sites.
Person Specification
Knowledge and Skills (Essential)
* Strategic workload organisation and flexibility.
* Managing waiting lists and skill development.
* Strong IT and Microsoft Office skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to liaise with colleagues, other professionals, carers and service users.
* Knowledge of medical conditions (respiratory, neuro, orthopaedic) and wheelchair prescription implications.
* Effective coping strategies for distressing situations and challenging behaviour.
* Work under pressure, risk and safeguarding, legal, health and safety, clinical governance, moving and handling, information governance and data protection knowledge.
Qualifications (Essential)
* BSc or Diploma in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
* State registration with the HCPC
* DBS Clearance
Desirable
* Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy or Royal College of Occupational Therapists
* Membership of relevant special interest groups (e.g., PMG)
Experience (Essential)
* Minimum 5 years post‑registration experience with long‑term or complex medical conditions.
* Previous wheelchair provision experience.
* Team leadership, positive role‑modeling, supervising junior staff, and budget management.
* Full driving licence and willingness to drive Ross Care/own vehicles.
Desirable
* Experience working within the NHS.
* Ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions.
