Job Description
Pharmacy Technicians at Boots play a crucial role in delivering outstanding patient‑centred service by triaging patients, coaching the healthcare team, and providing expert technical advice on the supply of medicines.
What you'll be doing
Provide tailored advice to patients about available medicines, products or Macmillan Cancer Support; deliver various services based on store needs; build strong relationships with the pharmacy team and inspire them to deliver the highest standard of care; assist with patient triage and distribute prescription handouts; take ownership for legal, safe and ethical decision‑making; manage operational tasks including stock replenishment, workload management, order fulfilment, receiving and handling controlled drugs while ensuring patient safety.
Key responsibilities
* Providing expert, tailored advice to patients about medicines, products or Macmillan Cancer Support.
* Delivering various services dependent on the store's needs.
* Building great relationships with pharmacy team members; coaching and inspiring them to deliver the highest standard of care.
* Assisting with triage of patients and distributing prescription handouts.
* Taking ownership for legal, safe and ethical decision‑making in the pharmacy.
* Managing operational tasks, including replenishing stock, workload management, order fulfilment, receiving and handling controlled drugs while ensuring patient safety.
What you'll need to have (our must‑haves)
* Registered with the relevant pharmacy regulator (GPhC, PSNI, PSI).
* A genuine excitement for coaching and leading a dispensary team.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Motivation to improve processes for teams, customers, and patients.
* A desire to deliver outstanding patient care.
* Ability to use pharmacy systems and technology.
It would be great if you also have
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician with checking capability – however training will be given.
