Hull University Teaching Hospitals are seeking to recruit a Band 3 bank Therapy Assistant to join our diverse team of allied health professionals and support staff who work across a range of clinical specialties within an acute care setting.
The post holders will work alongside colleagues to support the assessment of need across a range of clinical conditions which present with varying degrees of complexity. As a Therapy Assistant you will have direct input into the treatment of patients who present within acute care, delivering evidence based interventions to facilitate recovery, promote well-being and optimise independent functioning as far as reasonably possible in all areas of life.
We are seeking people who can adapt to a changing environment and work well in a team. You will be expected to be an active member of the therapy and multi-disciplinary teams and strive to treat patients and colleagues with compassion, kindness and respect.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to complement our Therapy Service working at Hull Royal and Castle Hill hospital. This is a Bank post therefore there is a requirement to be able to work at any site and within any clinical area within the Trust.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic person to gain experience working as a Therapy Assistant to provide support to Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in carrying out delegated duties. In addition, the post holder will assist in undertaking clerical and administrative duties directly related to patient care including mobility aids and clinical supplies.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification, AND/OR evidence of studying towards a relevant professional qualification at degree-level
* Evidence of achievement of relevant work-based training modules i.e. moving and handling, dementia awareness, food hygiene
Skills, Knowledge and Ability
* Evidence of a basic understanding of the role of a therapy assistant in an acute NHS Trust
* Personal statement should highlight reasons for applying for the post (500 words max)
Experience
* Able to demonstrate recent experience working with patients/clients in a caring or therapeutic environment
* Evidence of healthcare/care experience in the UK
* Previous NHS experience in a relevant role
