Are you passionate about supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs? New Directions is recruiting an SEMH Teaching Assistant for an exceptional primary school in Salford. This full-time role (5 days per week) offers the chance to make a real difference, helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and access learning successfully. The School:
1. A small, community-focused primary school serving families in an urban Salford neighbourhood, with a strong emphasis on inclusion and pastoral care.

3. Works closely with parents, local organisations, and faith-based values to create a nurturing and respectful school culture.
The Role:
4. Full-time pupil support role providing targeted support to children within Key Stage 2 (Years 1 and 2), assisting with both academic and emotional development
5. Implements personalised interventions, promotes positive behaviour, and assists with creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
6. Works closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor progress and contribute to pupils’ overall wellbeing and development.
The Candidate:
7. Holding a Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
8. Experience working with children in a classroom setting is preferred; however, we also welcome applications from individuals with backgrounds in care, support work, sports coaching, or psychology.
