Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.
The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Systems Development / Control Systems Engineer with a specialization in the Vehicle Motion Domain.
Area of Responsibility
1. Working as a member of theSwSquad, the successful individual will have tasks assigned / prioritised by the System Product Owner.
2. Extensive background in defining, designing, and delivering vehiclemotioncontrolfeatures, including damping control,rideheightmanagement, traction control,allwheeldrive systems, torque vectoring,rearwheelsteering, ABS,yawratecontrol, and electronic differential control.
3. Skilled in producing clear, precise software requirements that fullycomply withsystem specifications, legislative standards, and functional safety (FuSa) obligations.
4. Willbe responsible fordecomposing,derivingandallocatingSoftwarelevel requirements.
5. Willbe responsibleforthe creation ofappropriateSimulinkModelsto deliver the defined SoftwarerequirementsfortheMotionController.
6. Will be responsible tofor Test Case Authoring and conducting Unit Testing (inc. MIL/SIL/GitLab).
7. Willbe responsibleforSoftwarequalityartefactcreationand review
8. WillberesponsibleforBug Fix Investigation
9. Willsupportthe creation of appropriateFuSaDocumentation.
10. Proficient inmodelbasedcode generation using MathWorks tools, including Embedded Coder and the AUTOSAR toolbox.
11. Experienced in linking software requirements withinmodelbasedenvironments using MathWorks solutions such as Simulink Requirements.
12. Skilled inmodelbasedsoftware unit testing with tools like Simulink Test.
13. Experienced in software code analysis using tools such asPolyspace.
Knowledge / Experience
Essential:
14. Experience inSystems Engineering and requirements capture and analysis
15. ExperiencedinControl Engineering – Theory and Application on complex mechatronic systemsin the Motion Domain
16. Significant experienced withMatlab/Simulink andMathworkstoolchain
17. ExperienceusingTargetLinkand embedded coder
18. Experienced with Automotive CAN bus protocols and tools .CANOpen, J1939, ISO14229, ISO14230.
19. Experience in IBM DOORS,Jama or similar is essential.
Desirable:
20. Experience withdSPACEScalexioand toolchainsuch asControlDeskand Automation Desk.
21. ExperienceinVehicle dynamics theory and application.
22. Awareness on functional safety (ISO 26262 – Part 3) and cyber security(ISO21434).
23. Experience in 8D and fishbone root cause analysis.
24. Working knowledge with Automotive diagnostic tools(. Corvus)
25. System Validation Experience both Rig and Vehicle Based
26. Working experience onProject Managementtools such as JIRA.
27. Industry Recognised Driver permit (. JLR’s2PG/3PG/2OR)
