Legal Secretary – Luton (Full or Part Time)
Newstaff Employment is hiring an organised Legal Secretary in Luton to support a busy legal team. This role sits within the Private Client department, although candidates with experience in any practice area are encouraged to apply.
Location: Luton
Salary: £26, – £27, per annum (pro rata for part-time) depending on experience + Excellent Benefits
Working Hours: Monday to Friday. Full-time hours are 9:00 am – 5:30 pm, with a one-hour lunch. Part-time hours are also available.

Key Responsibilities
1. Draft and prepare legal documents, including wills, powers of attorney, and estate administration paperwork.
2. Maintain organised and accurate filing systems for all client matters.
3. Handle client correspondence and pass key information to solicitors and clients.
4. Arrange meetings, appointments, and diary schedules efficiently.
5. Support the team with research and document preparation when needed.
6. Ensure all work follows legal procedures, confidentiality rules, and compliance standards.
7. Provide day-to-day administrative support to the legal team.
8. Deliver a professional and welcoming service to clients at all times.
Essential Skills & Experience
9. Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within Private Client, although all practice areas will be considered.
10. Good understanding of wills, probate, trusts, or related legal work.
11. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage several tasks at once.
12. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
13. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
14. Experience using legal case management software.
15. Strong typing and audio typing skills.
16. High attention to detail with a proactive approach to work.
17. Able to manage confidential information with discretion.
18. Friendly manner with strong teamwork skills.
19. Car owner preferred, but not essential.
