The role
As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll support the successful delivery of specialist manufacturing and engineering programmes within our Marine business at Rosyth. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a range of low‑to‑medium complexity projects and work packages that contribute to critical defence and civil nuclear programmes.
Day‑to‑day you’ll be required to:
1. Supporting the delivery of key project management activities across assigned projects and work packages
2. Producing accurate project reporting, including schedule, cost and performance data
3. Planning, monitoring and controlling project work packages to ensure delivery to time, cost and quality
4. Contributing to the development of financial and schedule estimates
5. Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to support effective communication and collaboration
This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Friday and is based on site at Rosyth.
Essential experience of the Assistant Project Manager
6. Experience across the full project lifecycle
7. Practical application of core project management techniques
8. Recent experience in a similar engineering, manufacturing or project‑led environment
9. Awareness of different contracting and delivery methodologies
10. Demonstrable involvement in project management activities
Qualifications for the Assistant Project Manager
11. A recognised Project Management fundamentals qualification
