Learning Support Assistant

End date: July 2025 (with a view of transitioning onto a permanent contract)
About the Role
We are seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to provide support across various classrooms within our primary school. This role will require 2.5 days of work per week, likely full days on Monday and Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings only. The primary responsibility will be to offer 1:1 support across Key Stage 1, assisting children in accessing learning and providing pastoral care.

The school is located in Nelson (BB9) with good transport links and located close to the trainstation and just a short walk from the bus station.
Requirements
Candidates for the Teaching Assistant (Part-Time, Temporary) position should meet the following criteria:
* KS1 Experience: Prior experience working within Key Stage 1.
* SEND Experience: Previous experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
* Passion for Primary Education: A genuine interest in supporting the progress and well-being of primary school pupils.
Salary and Qualifications
Salary will be based on experience, training, and qualifications. Pay rate: £12.90 - £13.55 per hour

* Experience and Qualification in Teaching Support: Relevant experience and qualifications in teaching support are essential for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
