What will your day look like? As a Civil Enforcement Officer (CEO) you will be part of a dedicated team contributing towards the management of North East Lincolnshires highway network by ensuring that highway users comply with parking and traffic regulations. Its a hands on role, where you will be involved in community engagement and enforcement, making the local area a great safe place to work and live. Your day begins with a briefing and equipment check before heading out to patrol designated areas across the borough. As you move through streets, car parks, and residential zones, youll be: Monitoring parking compliance, ensuring vehicles are parked legally and safely. Issuing penalty charge notices where necessary, always in line with current legislation and local policy. Inspecting parking meters and pay-and-display machines, reporting any faults to keep systems running smoothly. Recording evidence and maintaining accurate documentation, using handheld devices to log incidents and actions. Throughout your shift, youll also: Check signage, road markings, and car park conditions, reporting any vandalism or maintenance needs. You may also help keep areas tidy by removing litter or clearing snow and gritting walkways when required. Assist members of the public, offering directions and local information with a friendly and helpful attitude. Report abandoned vehicles and other issues, helping to keep the community safe and well-managed. Who Are We Looking For? Were looking for someone who thrives in public-facing roles and ideally has experience in a similar environment. If you're familiar with relevant legislationlike the Traffic Management Act 2004thats a bonus, but dont worry if not; full training will be provided. Youll need to be a confident communicator, both verbally and in writing, as youll be liaising with a range of stakeholders across the community to help deliver practical, people-focused solutions. Were seeking someone whos comfortable working independently and as part of a team. When issuing notices to vehicles that breach parking regulations, youll use a handheld device to gather evidence, including written notes and photographs. Basic computer skills are essential to maintain accurate records. Did you know Civil Enforcement Officers can walk between 6 to 12 miles per shift? So youll definitely hit your step count. Youll also need to be available to work weekends, evenings, and bank holidays as part of a rota. You will also be given an opportunity to complete relevant qualifications, to ensue you have the necessary training, guidance and support required for the role. Why join us?
