A vacancy has arisen for a Wg Cdr (Any Profession) to serve as SO1 RAF Ceremonial and Air Events at RAF Northolt on Full Time Reserve Service (Home Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date being not before 03 September 2026. SO1 RAF Ceremonial and Air Events is the RAF’s SME for delivering public and internal facing ceremonial and air events, reporting to AHd Air Media and Comms (External Comms). The post will be based at RAF Northolt, leading a small team responsible for: - Management of the RAF Ceremonial and Air Event Teams, including allocation of RAFAT, BBMF, RAF Falcons, Singleton Displays, the King’s Colour Squadron (KCS) and RAF Music. Additionally, the associated allocation of Defence and RAF air and ground resources; collectively in support of the RAF Engagement Strategy and within compliance documentation. - RAF Heraldry, RAF King’s Colours and Squadron Standards. - Adhering to a non-negotiable standby, planning and delivering the RAF’s contribution to State ceremonial and planning and delivering the RAF’s major anniversary and ceremonial events; both require several working weekends and unsociable hours. - In addition, the successful candidate will also be required to support Air Media & Comms and assist with other RAF tasks as directed by the CofC.
