Overview
Join to apply for the Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal role at IVC Evidensia.
Salary up to £65,000 DOE (FTE) plus £1,500 Relocation Allowance. Part-time hours: 20-30 per week. Flexible working options available (e.g., school hours); no out-of-hours (OOH); 1-in-6 weekend rota (Saturday 4.15pm finish, Sunday short 4-hour shift only, no routine duties). Weekends are sole charge (alongside RVN and 2 Receptionists).
This role is a part-time position with a focus on maintaining a strong work-life balance and opportunities for career development.
Practice environment: Feline and Rabbit Friendly (silver); scope for a consulting-only role. Supported by a team including 2 x certificate holders (small animal cardiology and ophthalmology), an experienced GP vet, and a new graduate. VetGDP Advisors and OVs are within the team. Vets Now Macclesfield provides OOH coverage.
Responsibilities
* Care for a varied caseload of small animals and exotics (mainly rabbits and rodents), with a mix of medical and surgical cases.
* Focus on preventative care integrated into clinics (feline blood pressure, weight clinics, healthy pet and wellness screens).
* Perform dental procedures with digital radiography; full mouth X-rays for stage one; utilize ultrasound (MC and PA probes) and participate in ongoing investments in endoscopy equipment.
* Utilize the internal lab for same-day test results and collaborate with the OOH provider for after-hours care.
