We're looking for a
Public Transport Analyst
to play a key role in shaping the future of bus services across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough.
This role is central to delivering a new
bus franchising model
, providing evidence and insight that will inform strategic decisions, business cases, and policy development. You'll be responsible for ensuring we have robust, accurate data to guide improvements that directly impact our communities.
What You'll Do
In this role, you'll:
Analyse complex datasets (Excel, Power BI, statistical software) to support policy and strategy
Deliver regular reporting on bus network performance to senior leaders and committees
Turn data into insight with clear reports, presentations, infographics and visualisations
Provide evidence for business cases and funding bids
Support evaluations of bus services using both quantitative and qualitative methods
Collaborate across teams and with external partners to shape the transport strategy
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who has:
A degree (Level 6) in Human Geography, Public Policy, Transport Planning or a related subject – or equivalent experience
Strong analytical skills and experience interrogating large datasets
Proficiency with Excel (or similar), Power BI, and statistical packages (SPSS or equivalent)
Excellent written and presentation skills to explain findings clearly to different audiences
Experience preparing reports and delivering analysis to senior stakeholders
The ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively
Desirable but not essential:
GIS skills (ArcGIS, QGIS or MapInfo)
Awareness of the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority and the transport challenges facing the region
