Skills Coach - Beauty Therapy

Hours: 5.5 hours per week (Block 1: 25/08/25-21/11/25) & 8.5 hours per week (Block 2: 24/11/25-06/03/26 & Block 3: 09/03/26-05/06/26)
Contract: Fixed term until June, Sessional
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Grade 4 Points 18 to 22
£31, to £34, per annum
(subject to pending job evaluation)
West Lothian College is looking to appoint an outstanding Skills Coach to join our Business, Creative, and Enterprise faculty, working closely with our Beauty Therapy team. The appointed candidate will have the unique opportunity to make a significant impact on learners lives by helping them overcome personal challenges, equipping them with the necessary skills and confidence to gain their qualifications and thrive in their chosen culinary careers.
This is a great opportunity for you to combine your beauty therapy expertise with your compassion for guiding and empowering learners. You will play a pivotal role in boosting their confidence, motivation, and engagement, helping them navigate their beauty therapy journey and succeed in the face of challenges by building a supportive and nurturing environment
The successful candidate should be educated to SCQF level 7 or equivalent in beauty therapy. There must also be evidence of relevant Beauty industry experience and an understanding of skills required to thrive in employment.
This is a sessional role so you will only work during term time. The contracted class hours are as follows:
Block 1 – Thursday – 10:00-16:30
Block 2 – Thursday – 10:00-19:15
Block 3 – Thursday – 10:00-19:15

Those shortlisted for interview will be required to prepare and deliver a 10-minute presentation to the panel on a specific topic.
