The Role

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our in‑house clinical team at The Shires – Stretton. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke occupational therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working, holding a caseload with the support of a designated clinical supervisor and Lead Clinician. Additional responsibilities include staff training and consultation where required. Your role will support a person‑centred, empowering approach, ensuring safeguarding and that pupils are heard, respected and involved in decisions that affect them. You will be expected to complete the required professional development to maintain your HCPC, RCOT and occupational therapy credentials.


Essential Criteria

* Recognised Occupational Therapy degree
* Valid and up‑to‑date HCPC registration
* Registered member of RCOT
* Relevant experience in providing occupational therapy services within a similar setting; previous engagement with neurodivergent individuals and learning or socio‑emotional and mental health difficulties is preferred, with evidence of transferable skills
* Sound knowledge and clinical understanding of OT theory and its practical application to support independence
* Experience of multi‑professional work with teams or services within the designated speciality preferred
* Ability to work independently, flexibly and confidently within a school environment
* Clear and concise report writing skills
* Interest in sensory integration or sensory‑informed practice (SI practitioner training in progress or completed is preferable, but not essential)

Contract Details

Location: The Shires – Stretton, Rutland, East Midlands LE15 7GT
Salary: up to £53,200 DOE
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Contract: Permanent (flexibility around term‑time contract can be discussed based on personal circumstances)
