We’re working with a well-run secondary school in Newham looking for an engaging Sociology Teacher to join their humanities team. The school has strong sixth-form uptake, supportive leadership, and students who respond well to clear structure and passionate teaching.
The role includes:
* Teaching Sociology at GCSE and A-Level
* Planning and delivering thought-provoking lessons that encourage discussion and critical thinking
* Supporting students with exam skills, essay writing, and sociological analysis
* Working closely with a collaborative humanities department
* Maintaining clear routines and positive classroom behaviour
The school is looking for someone who:
* Holds UK QTS (or is working towards it)
* Has experience teaching GCSE and/or A-Level Sociology
* Can confidently deliver the specification and prepare students for exams
* Brings enthusiasm, organisation, and a calm classroom presence
* Enjoys contributing to the wider life of the school and sixth form
