We're on the hunt for a creative and versatile Digital Designer to join our Marketing Tribe. The role can be remote or hybrid (our HQ is in sunny Suffolk). The successful candidate will be a ‘T-shaped’ designer (multi-skilled), with the primary focus being on video (production, editing and distribution), digital and website design. We're after somebody with a combination of strong creativity and technical skills. This role works across multiple areas of marketing and the wider business, requiring excellent collaboration and communication skills. The successful candidate will ensure that Go Ape’s brand identity is consistently translated across all design elements. Main Tasks & Responsibilities Brand Guardianship Own, manage and evolve Brand Guidelines for internal and external use. Ensure consistency across all owned design. Collaborate with partners to ensure accurate application of Brand Guidelines. Video Storyboard captivating video concepts which translate into compelling video content. Manage video shoots from planning through to direction on the day. Edit video footage into multiple edits, incorporating graphics where necessary. Render video into different file formats for distribution. Print Design Create Print Design Assets - considering technical factors, production, proof sign off and printing. Assets could include: Site signage, Adverts and Out of Home Digital Design x Social Media Design and produce engaging visual content tailored for email and various social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Linked In. Content could include static images, animated GIFs, short videos, infographics Digital Design x Advertising Design and Develop Digital Assets: Create visually appealing assets for the Go Ape website, email campaigns, and digital advertising, including: Visually engaging HTML5 banners that align with campaign goals and drive user engagement across digital platforms. Website Design With the upcoming launch of our brand-new website in Q4, this role plays a pivotal part in ensuring it continues to evolve in line with customer expectations, brand identity, and Go Ape’s digital strategy. Collaborate with the Digital Manager, Developer, and wider team to continuously improve and enhance the new website’s design and functionality. Lead on UX and UI design updates post-launch, helping to refine and optimise customer journeys based on data insights, testing, and feedback. Design new components, layouts, and templates that respond to business needs while maintaining consistency across all digital touchpoints. Contribute to strategic planning around how the website can better support marketing campaigns, seasonal content, and personalisation. Ensure a mobile-first, accessible design approach that delivers an excellent user experience across devices. Support the testing and QA process to ensure design fidelity is maintained through to development. Play an active role in shaping the future roadmap of the website – proactively suggesting improvements and bringing fresh ideas to the table. Go Ape Asset System Ownership of Go Ape Asset system Manage the storage, filing and update of Go Ape imagery and assets Work alongside co-owners to drive best practice when saving and filing content. Collaboration Collaboration with the Marketing team during planning and ideation meetings. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with Senior Artworker and stakeholders. Ability to take creative direction and incorporate feedback to refine and improve designs. Educate co-owners on design best practice. Cover Senior Artworker in their absence. Skills and Experience Required Design experience – strong portfolio showcasing digital design and branding. Strong Project Management - A self-starter with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines from beginning to end. Strong Stakeholder Management - communication on a technical level, managing expectations and timescales, challenging where necessary. Strong understanding of digital design principles, screen sizes, mobile first and accessibility Excellent Creative Skills - storytelling, composition and pace Ability to convey ideas through sketches, animation, or moving images? Knowledge of responsive design - benefits and limitations? UX/UI Principles: Strong understanding of user experience and interface design principles. Experience working with agencies - Photographers and Videographers Proficiency in software: Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Premier Pro, After Effects, Figma, Media Encoder Good understanding of Industry Best Practice Experience - nice to have HTML/CSS: Basic knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and understanding of front-end development to collaborate effectively with the developer.
