Job Description
My client is a global construction and engineering consultancy with offices based very close to the centre of Newcastle. There is currently an opportunity for a qualified solicitor at the newly qualified level or above who is looking for an in-house role and who has a particular interest in matters of construction law, particularly in relation to contracts (consultancy agreements & building contracts) and issues such as GDPR, commercial litigation and professional indemnity insurance.
The successful candidate will be tasked with undertaking detailed contractual documentation review and providing advice / engaging in negotiations on the same. This role comes with a significant amount of responsibility and although there will be support from a very experienced team it is important that candidates applying for this role are comfortable dealing with business-critical documentation.
This role will be particularly well-suited to candidates who may already be working in-house or who have worked in a top-quality private practice firm with previous experience of non-contentious construction law. It is essential for this opportunity that candidates be qualified lawyers in the United Kingdom and only applicants who have achieved qualification status will be considered.
My client can offer realistic further opportunities for professional development along with a competitive salary and other benefits which can be discussed on receipt of an application.
