Housing Policy and Performance Manager (Ref: HPPM)
Salary £43,540.12 p.a.
This role is a great opportunity to help shape the future of the housing service, influence strategic decision‑making, and ensure that the best possible outcomes are delivered for residents as part of a busy and forward‑thinking housing service. It is suited to an experienced and motivated Policy and Performance Manager who will lead policy development, performance monitoring, and strategic analysis across the Housing Service.
The key responsibilities include combining strong analytical skills with an understanding of housing legislation and confidently leading a small team. You will work closely with internal and external partners to drive improvement and deliver high‑quality outcomes for residents. As the Council does not hold its own housing stock, the role is crucial in partnering with housing associations to ensure new affordable homes are delivered in a timely manner.
Applicants must be computer literate and have a minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including English and Maths. Experience in the public sector is preferred, especially with housing‑related experience. Training will be provided, particularly in relation to Council‑specific policies and criteria. A full driving licence would also be advantageous. The position will require a standard DBS check.
The Council’s benefits package includes generous leave entitlement, a full training and development programme, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and free membership to the Council’s local leisure centres, which includes free access to gyms, swimming pools, fitness classes, racket sport sessions, a health suite and a range of generous discounts across other leisure and culture services.
Broxbourne Council is an Equal Opportunities employer.
