About the Role
RML is seeking a talented Simulation Engineer with 2 years experience to join our Powertrain Engineering team. In this role, you will deliver advanced simulation activities across multiple engineering projects ensuring they meet time, cost, and quality targets. Youll contribute to the development of RMLs in-house simulation capabilities, working on cutting-edge vehicle technologies including hybrid and electric powertrains.

Key Responsibilities
As a Simulation Engineer, you will:
Deliver simulation activities to meet project requirements for timing, budget, and quality.
MIST have 2 years experience with in this role
Develop and enhance RMLs vehicle simulation software and toolboxes in Matlab/Simulink .
Manage software versions and updates using subversion control systems.
Identify and test new battery cell candidates, analyse performance data, and maintain RMLs cell database.
Conduct Multiphysics analyses from CAD processing and meshing to post-processing results and proposing optimisation solutions.
Support vehicle target setting, DoEs, and sensitivity studies throughout project lifecycles.
Apply broad technical knowledge to integrate simulation insights across powertrain, vehicle dynamics, and chassis systems .
Create and maintain Engineering Guides, Procedures, and Standards to capture best practices and lessons learned.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal integration between simulation, design, and testing.
Research new technologies and methods to strengthen RMLs CAE and simulation capabilities.
Maintain health and safety standards and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
About You
We are looking for a driven and technically skilled Simulation Engineer who thrives on complex challenges and enjoys working collaboratively to deliver engineering excellence.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
Experience in automotive or motorsport systems engineering (OEM, Tier 1 supplier, consultancy, or motorsport team).
Proven experience in simulating hybrid and fully electric powertrains, both for legislative cycles and performance applications.
Knowledge of vehicle certification requirements.
Experience with vehicle dynamics and the relationship between chassis and powertrain performance.
Technical Skills:
Proficient with Matlab/Simulink and Object-Oriented Programming .
Experienced in Conjugate Heat Transfer, CFD, or Structural FEA (preferably using the Ansys suite).
Strong understanding of physics, including electrification, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and structural mechanics.
Working knowledge of Control Theory, with the ability to support control strategy development (e.g., SoC estimation for BMS).
Familiar with structured problem-solving methods (8D, Ishikawa).
Able to produce and review clear, informative technical reports.
