We are seeking two Business Development Executives to join our Marketing and Business Development Department. One successful individual will work closely with our Corporate Practice and the other will support our Private Client Practice as well as our Private Wealth and International initiatives. The Executives will report into the relevant Senior Business Development Manager.


Role overview


Year-on-year the engagement with the Business Development team increases and this role plays an important part in provide a high level of service to the business. The Business Development Executive will have the opportunity to lead on some of the day-to-day activities as well as support the Senior Business Development Managers on projects and work with the wider business development team on firmwide projects.


This role provides the opportunity to cover a wide range of business development and marketing disciplines.


The role


Duties will include:


Business Development


* working with the Senior Business Development Manager to create practice area and marketing plans;
* supporting in the delivery of these practice area and marketing plans, helping to ensure activities are carried out to time and budget;
* developing an understanding of the work of the groups and their sub-practice areas;
* supporting fee earners on the creation of plans/activities relating to targets, clients and intermediaries;
* working alongside the Pitch Team to provide support to our pitch activity;
* leading on credentials capture processes;
* helping to produce and review data around marketing activities;
* leading on legal directory submissions; and
* carrying out market and competitor research and support on client mapping exercises.


Marketing Communications


* facilitating internal communication for the purpose of cross-selling;
* working with the Marketing Communications Team to implement marketing campaigns of interest to their clients/targets;
* collaboration with the Events Team on the preparation of seminars and client events;
* assisting partners and the PR Team with the creation of press releases and other PR initiatives;
* supporting fee earners on their profile raising initiatives;
* working with Partners and designated fee-earners on the development and production of all practice area materials;
* helping to effectively leverage thought leadership produced by the fee earners, including working with fee earners to develop their LinkedIn profiles;
* compiling client newsletters and alerts using Vuture, helping partners to pull together targeted lists (using our CRM system InterAction), monitoring reader statistics and alerting partners to any client feedback; and
* proof-reading documents to ensure they are aligned to house style.


This job description encompasses the main duties of the role and is by no means exhaustive. It is anticipated that duties may vary from time to time according to the needs of the practice area.


The candidate


The successful candidate will ideally meet the following requirements:


* 2-4 years of relevant marketing and BD experience in a professional services firm;
* experience of dealing with partners; and
* an understanding or a keen desire to learn about the relevant practice areas.


Required skills:


* proactive and tenacious, capable of identifying, developing and gaining support for marketing and business development initiatives;
* good influencing skills with the ability to establish credibility quickly;
* effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to challenge ideas and convention;
* excellent attention to detail;
* good team working skills – committed to continuous development of self and others; and
* strong project management skills.
