Audit and Certification Manager Birchwood, Warrington or Milton Park, OxfordshirePermanent

As Audit and Certification Manager you will be required to define, lead, manage, and execute a comprehensive programme of audits and certification activities that ensure Nuvia's compliance to identified standards and other international safety standards.Nuvia - a subsidiary of VINCI construction - is an international company that operates across highly regulated sectors including Civil Nuclear and has a strong presence and history of delivery at nuclear sites in the UK and internationally.Nuvia is a performance-driven company that is committed to the development of its people within a culture of safety, innovation, and excellence.

Head of Quality

Design and deliver an annual audit plan covering internal operations and external supply chain partners to verify compliance with the aforementioned standards and any Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) requirements.Lead the preparation for the emergence of, and maintenance of, critical certifications, particularly ISO 19443:2018, and ISO 44001, ensuring all organizational processes align with nuclear safety culture.Act as the primary point of contact for Nuvia's interaction with the British Standards Institute and manage our British Standards On-Line (BSOL) Account.Oversee the effectiveness of the QMS, ensuring it encompasses Quality (ISO 9001), Environment (ISO 14001), and Health & Safety (ISO 45001) within a nuclear context.Manage supplier audits and inspections to prevent counterfeit, fraudulent, or substandard items (CFSI) from entering the nuclear supply chain.Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for non-conformances and lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance nuclear safety culture across the project or site.Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, regulatory bodies, and certification partners to ensure smooth assessments and timely remediation.Prepare and present comprehensive audit findings to executive leadership and Audit Committees, focusing on data-driven recommendations for process improvement.Collect, collate analyse and present sometimes complex information in line with requirements, policies and procedures. Responsible for development of self and promoting and contributing to the development of employees who report to them, to deliver performance that has clear direction, accountability and responsibility.Responsible for ensuring all systems and/or databases in your area of responsibility are accurately maintained and quality checks are undertakenThe role is essentially hybrid in nature but there is a strong expectation that the position holder regularly attends BOTH the Bridgewater Place and Milton Park Offices as required in support of planning, audit, and reporting meetings, or as requested by the Head of Quality. Office based attendance will be expected during a three month probationary period after which hybrid arrangements will be considered once satisfactory probationary period has been completed.

This role requires SC Clearance or the ability to obtain this clearance immediately following appointment.This position is suited to someone who has a technical/scientific background and who has subsequently moved into the Quality Management and Audit Profession. Knowledge of Nuclear Site Licence Conditions and experience working with licensed nuclear sites and Nuclear Decommissioning Organisations, or within other highly regulated high-hazard industries (e.g. Oil, Gas, Aerospace, Automotive).Membership of (or the ability to achieve) Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) or the International Register of Certified Auditors (IRCA) is required for this role.ISO 9001) and the ability to undergo specialised training in ISO 19443 .Ability to analyse complex technical data, identify emerging regulatory or technological risks, and produce concise reports for Board-level stakeholders.Exceptional influencing skills to engage with senior executives, international partners, and regulatory and certification bodies.

Able to provide specialist advice regarding QualityAbility to travel within the UK to client and supplier sites is also an expectation of this role.Good analytical skills (Quality and Statistical)
