We’re now looking for a confident, customer-focused Hire Desk Controller Safety & Security to join our growing operations team. You’ll play a key part in managing customer enquiries, coordinating hire orders, and making sure everything runs smoothly from start to finish.
The impact you’ll have:
As a Hire Desk Controller, you’ll be at the heart of the actionworking closely with customers, suppliers, and our internal teams to make sure every hire order is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will help keep operations running smoothly and customers coming back.
A typical day:
* Manage and process customer orders with accuracy and care
* Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to ensure timely equipment delivery
* Build strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and deliver solutions
* Use your product knowledge to upsell and cross-sell across different service lines
* Help customers navigate our digital platforms for faster, simpler ordering
* Handle all customer requests and logistics queries within agreed SLAs
* Coordinate third-party carrier movements and ensure deliveries are completed as planned
* Prioritise preferred suppliers in line with contracts to maintain positive margins
* Negotiate with suppliers when needed to improve rates and maximise value
* Keep customers informed about our full range of products and services
* Meet and exceed key performance targets, including completion rates and profitability
What you’ll bring:
* Experience in a Hire or Building Materials environment (preferred)
* Excellent customer service skills and a genuine focus on delivering great experiences
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Confidence working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* A proactive, can-do attitude with the resilience to get things done
* A full driving licence is desirable but not essential
