Assistant Buyer Overview We are excited to be recruiting on behalf of one of our long-standing, fantastic clients – renowned for their dynamic product offering and wonderful company culture. They’re currently on the hunt for a motivated Assistant buyer to join their homewares side, specifically working on the Toys team. Assistant Buyer Responsibilities Select a product range which maximises sales opportunities and anticipates customers needs, under the guidance of the Buyer Manage suppliers and brands, attending trade shows and buying appointments Review marketplace and latest trends Pulling together samples and swatches from potential suppliers Manage development meetings for the departments in the absence of the Buyer when necessary Assist the Buyer to create and compile detailed briefs for new developments Assistant in range building and product selection Develop close relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate samples Manage the critical path dates and schedules to ensure deadlines are met Write product copy and loading cross-sells Review in-season trade for the Buyer Set up and manage all buying administration systems and procedures to ensure product availability Manage the sample room and process Assistant Buyer Additional Information This role is hybrid working and commutable from areas across the North East and North West. Experience on toys is not essential, however experience on homewares, beauty, electricals or gifting would be beneficial.
