FPGA Firmware Engineer
Location:
Gloucestershire, UK (On-site)
Salary:
£65,000 – £80,000 + Bonus
A global Defence & Security company are looking for multiple FPGA Firmware Engineers to join their engineering team developing secure FPGA systems for critical data applications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and optimize FPGA firmware (VHDL) for custom platforms
* Integrate high-bandwidth IP blocks and embedded logic
* Collaborate with hardware/software teams on end-to-end solutions
* Mentor juniors and contribute to technical leadership
Core Skills:
* Strong VHDL expertise
* Intel/Altera (or Xilinx/Achronix) toolchain experience
* Knowledge of high-speed interfaces (DDR, Ethernet etc.)
Bonus Skills:
* Experience with secure or regulated systems
* Hardware design familiarity
* Task planning & team leadership
* Eligible for UK Security Clearance
