About the Role
This role exists to make sure employability services do what they are meant to do: deliver results, protect quality, and properly support people.
You will be accountable for the operational delivery, performance and quality of a contract. Success is measured clearly: outcomes achieved, KPIs met, and teams performing consistently. This is a leadership role with clear ownership of results.
What This Role Is Really About
This is not strategic oversight from a distance.
You will be close to performance, data and people. Targets exist because outcomes matter. Data matters because decisions must be fair and evidence-led. Standards matter because services must be safe, compliant and credible.
You will need to balance empathy with challenge. Progress will not always be neat. Consistency is what delivers impact over time.

You will operate in a regulated, publicly funded environment: inspection-ready, outcome-focused and professionally run. Structure matters here.
What You Will Do
* Lead teams to consistently achieve contractual KPIs and job outcomes
* Set clear performance expectations and act early where delivery is at risk
* Develop Team Leaders and Advisors to work with confidence and discipline
* Ensure safeguarding, compliance and data integrity standards are met at all times
* Use performance data to identify trends, risks and improvement actions
* Plan resources, caseloads and capacity to maintain stable delivery
* Manage operational risk calmly and decisively
* Build credible relationships with commissioners and partners
* Take responsibility for funded delivery and value for money
* Drive continuous improvement, not quick fixes

A Day in the Role
You might start by reviewing performance data and identifying risks. This could be followed by a call with a Team Leader where outcomes are slipping, a safeguarding check that needs tightening, or a commissioner conversation about delivery confidence.
You will spend time coaching advisors, not rescuing them, and making decisions early rather than delaying them.
