Summary

We have an opportunity for a Prevention Officer (Road Safety) to join our Community Safety (CS) Prevention team on a Permanent contract working full time (37 hours per week). In return, you will receive a competitive salary starting at £33,699 and rising to £36,363 per annum.The role is based at our Service Headquarters in Exeter.

About the role:

The Service Delivery Community Safety (CS) Prevention team are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, disciplined, energetic and trustworthy individual to join their Road Safety Team and contribute to the wider Community Safety agenda.

The applicant will work with the Road Safety Lead, Road Safety team, and a large number of partner organisations in the highly varied and busy role, to help reduce the number of people who are killed and seriously injured on the roads of Devon and Somerset.

They will be responsible for directly delivering prevention interventions to a range of target audiences who are at most risk on our roads. This will include delivering effective data led risk reduction activity with you people (17-24 year olds), motorcyclists and other at-risk groups in our Service area of Devon and Somerset. The role will enable the successful candidate to develop as a subject matter expert within road safety.

The role will supervise and oversee a team of Road Safety Advocates in the delivery of risk reduction interventions across Devon and Somerset. They will develop, nurture, promote and maintain effective, relevant, and synergistic working relationships with key partners and stakeholders to ensure positive risk reduction outcomes are achieved through targeted prevention activity.

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced check, and a valid car or motorbike driving licence is required for this post.
