1:1 Teaching Assistant Herne Bay

Academics in Canterbury are working closely with a vibrant primary school in Herne Bay who are looking to appoint a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil on an ongoing basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and is committed to supporting the learning and development of children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support for a child in KS2, tailoring learning activities to meet their individual needs
Build a strong, positive relationship with the child to support both academic progress and emotional wellbeing
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies
Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff and parents/carers
Foster a nurturing, inclusive learning environment where the child feels safe, supported, and engagedWhat we are looking for:
A relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or currently studying for a PGCE or Education Degree
Previous experience supporting children with a range of abilities, particularly in a 1:1 setting
A patient, flexible and adaptable approach to support individual learning needs
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team ethic
A genuine passion for helping children thrive and succeed
