Cover Supervisor

We are looking for aspiring or experienced Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Key Stages 3 and 4 and all subject areas and have a variety of day-to-day work in secondary schools across the Rochdale area. Full induction training is also provided by our in-house training team.
Cover Supervisors provide short term cover for absent teaching staff, supervising pupils carrying out pre-prepared work, keeping pupils on task and managing the behaviour of pupils during class. Their main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set. The role does not involve planning, preparing, delivering lessons, or assessing and reporting on the development progress and attainment of pupils.
Responsibilities include:
* Supervising the pupils within the classroom
* Ensuring pupils remain on task
* Dealing with disruptive behaviour
* Ensuring the safety of pupils
* Building relationships with pupils
* Helping the pupils when needed
Successful applicants will have:
* Degree qualification or equivalent is advantageous but not essential
* Passion, be empathetic and have confidence
* Excellent communication skills
