Job Description
Newstaff Employment Services is currently looking for an experienced HGV 1 Driver to join our team in Luton. As an HGV 1 Driver, you will be responsible for transporting commercial goods safely and efficiently across designated routes. You will play a critical role in ensuring timely deliveries while providing exemplary customer service and adherence to all transport regulations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety.
Responsibilities
1. Operate HGV 1 vehicles to transport goods to various locations in a timely and safe manner.
2. Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
3. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance.
4. Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
5. Adhere to local traffic laws and company driving policies.
6. Assist with loading and unloading cargo as required, ensuring proper handling of goods.
Requirements
7. Valid HGV 1 (Class 1) driving license.
8. Proven experience as an HGV 1 Driver, preferably in a commercial setting.
9. Strong knowledge of driving regulations and transport laws.
10. Excellent driving record with a commitment to safety.
11. Ability to manage time effectively and meet tight delivery schedules.
12. Strong communication skills and good customer service orientation.
13. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed within a dynamic environment.
Benefits
