Overview
Personal Assistants (Support Workers) provide support to adults with learning disability and occasional physical disability. The role is part of the Twechar Project, a short break respite care service in Twechar village, supporting up to 5 individuals. The team works collaboratively to ensure safety, wellbeing and aspirations are met.
Contract Details
24‑hour contract. Rota includes early shift, late shift, 12‑hour shifts, overnight support, and occasional night shift to accommodate service needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist individuals with personal care, moving and handling, and positive behavioural support.
* Encourage participation in activities aligned with personal interests.
* Follow individual support plans and ensure goals and outcomes are met.
* Work independently or as part of a team to maintain a high standard of care.
* Support the expansion of social networks and connections for service users.
* Ensure safe environments and follow health & safety practices.
Qualifications
* Ability to adapt communication style to build relationships with service users.
* Commitment to follow personal support plans and celebrate successes.
* Positive and flexible outlook, able to work autonomously or in team.
* No prior care experience required – transferable skills and values valued.
