Our superb client, based in Huntingdon, is seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to join them on a full-time permanent basis working 9.00am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
As Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for:-
1. Leading and mentoring a procurement team, training, coaching and developing of your team, 121’s, appraisals, establishing KPI’s, etc
2. Overseeing the procurement of all services for the company
3. Building and maintaining relationships with service providers, suppliers and subcontractors.
4. Leading the negotiations on SLA’s, supplier contracts, pricing, new suppliers
5. Managing and evaluating the delivery, performance and quality of suppliers
6. Ongoing review and streamlining of departmental processes
7. Building relationships with external stakeholders
8. Liaising with internal managers to ensure timely procurement and demand forecasting
9. Working to company and project budgets
10. Managing risk to ensure the business meet contractual obligations, cost fluctuations, etc
11. Identify process improvement across procurement, cost reduction and efficiencies.
12. Assist with the develop of cost forecasts and project budgets and prepare and provide management reports.
To be considered for the Head of Procurement role, you will have:-
13. At least 7 years’ experience within engineering or construction procurement with at least three years in a team management, leadership role
14. Proven experience of supplier negotiation and performance management
15. A strong understanding of subcontractor engagement and service-based procurement
16. Professional certifications (MRICS / MCIPS or similar)
17. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
18. Strong procurement platform experience such as SAP, Oracle, IFS
