Technical Manager
CK Group are recruiting for a Technical Manager to join a Fine Chemicals manufacturing company at their site based in Newmarket on a full time, permanent basis.
Location:
The Technical Manager
will be based at the company's site in Newmarket, easily commutable from Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Ely, Saffron Walden and Royston.
Technical Manager Role:
Your main duties will be:
1. Leading Safety and ensuring departmental HSE compliance
2. Leading daily Operational Planning for Production and Development teams
3. Supporting and training departmental employees
4. Quality and Data analysis for full compliance
5. Driving site-wide efficiencies and continual improvement
6. Technical Troubleshooting
7. Senior Representation under the Site Director
Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
8. Chemistry or Chemical Engineering degree, alternatively at least
5 years' experience within Fine Chemical/Pharmaceutical Manufacturing (ideally MSc/PhD)
9. Proven Operations Leadership experience within Chemical/Pharmaceutical sectors
10. demonstrable track record of troubleshooting/problem-solving in Laboratories or Production
11. Prior experience in people-facing leadership roles (Team Leader/Senior Management)
12. Understanding of Six Sigma or similar methodologies
13. Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (QHSE) Management Systems
14. Analytical proficiency - GC, HPLC, FTIR, KF and other QC testing methodologies - ideal
15. Project Management experience - ideal
