Our client who designs and manufactures production line equipment are keen to recruit an Automation Technician to design and programme PLC's, touchscreens and controls.
The role involves working with the electricians and panel builders to design and build the control system, program and commission the machines in house at the purpose built factory and at customers site so some worldwide travel is required on occasion.

Duties:
6. Designing PLC based electrical control systems from design specifications.
7. Programming PLC, Touchscreen and Safety Configurable relay systems.
8. Configuring Remote I/O, servo motor and inverter drives
9. Integrating ancillary equipment into the production lines such as vision systems etc.
10. Fault finding on electrical control systems, PLC's, and hardwired systems
11. Commissioning, support, and service work at customers' sites
Requirements:
12. Must have previous experience of PLC programming, touchscreens and controls
13. Must have a good understanding of electrical drawings, control panel specifications and design
14. A good understanding of Vision and SCADA systems is also required
15. Experience within the pharmaceutical industry would be advantageous
16. Experience of explosive atmosphere regulations is desirable
17. Product training will be given on specialist machinery and equipment
18. Must be willing to undertake overseas travel on occasion
