About the Role:
Connex Education are seeking an exceptional SEMH Lead Teacher to join our dedicated team at our thriving secondary school in Hartlepool. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
As SEMH Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for leading and developing our inclusive provision, ensuring all pupils with SEND receive the highest quality education and support to reach their full potential.

Assignment Details:
* Lead and manage the SEN department, including Teaching Assistants and support staff
* Develop and implement strategies to support pupils with a wide range of SEND
* Coordinate Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and annual reviews
* Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies including educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and social services
* Provide training and guidance to teaching staff on SEND best practice
* Monitor and evaluate the progress of SEND pupils across all key stages
* Maintain accurate records and data analysis for SEND provision
* Manage the SEN budget and resources effectively
* Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation

As a successful SEND Teacher with Connex Education Partnership, you will possess:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Proven experience teaching pupils with SEND
National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to undertake training
Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and the Code of Practice
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals
Strong organisational and leadership skills
Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding
Previous experience in a leadership role within SEND
Experience working with pupils with Autism Spectrum Conditions, ADHD, and other complex needs
Knowledge of assistive technology and resources
Experience of managing budgets and staff
