The role
Vision for Education is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work in an SEN School in Evesham on a full-time basis. To support pupils across an all-through school (primary and secondary phases) with a range of Special Educational Needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Physical Disabilities, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. Hours Monday-Fridaypm. About the Role: The role involves providing tailored educational, physical, and emotional support to enable pupils to access a broad, balanced, and inclusive curriculum while promoting independence, communication, and wellbeing Provide in-class support to pupils on an individual or small group basis. Assist the class teacher with planning, preparation, and delivery of differentiated learning activities. Support pupils’ academic, social, emotional, and physical development. Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. Promote inclusion and encourage pupil independence. Support pupils with personal care needs where required. Use specialist communication strategies and resources as appropriate. Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and other professionals. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents/carers, and external agencies. Maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment. Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times. Familiarity with different types of special educational needs and the educational approaches used to support them. Patience in managing challenging behaviour and helping students progress at their own pace. About the School: A specialist all-through school based in Evesham for children and young people aged 3-19 with moderate to complex needs, committed to delivering high quality education. Pupils have a range of diagnoses and additional needs, including Autism, Physical Disabilities, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties, and profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. About you:- Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs. Understanding of a range of learning difficulties and disabilities. Ability to support pupils’ academic, social, emotional, and physical development. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Patience, empathy, resilience, and a flexible approach. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Experience in a specialist or all-through school setting. Knowledge of behaviour support strategies and inclusive practice. Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are a suitable qualification for working with children and experience working with special education needs.
