Overview
North Wales Eye Specialist Centre based in Abergele and Bangor are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Optical Healthcare Assistant to join our team on a part time basis.
You will be compassionate and dedicated and you will be working in a busy outpatient department clinic and theatre environment supporting the consultants, nursing staff and admin team in various duties.
Responsibilities
* You will be required to provide healthcare assistance to our theatre nursing staff.
* You will cover the reception desk in Bangor and Abergele when required and provide a friendly and efficient reception service with duties including booking follow up appointments, scanning notes and taking payments.
* Assist in the clinic on occasions in performing vision tests, OCT scans and visual field tests (training will be given).
* Assist the admin team in preparing paperwork and various other admin duties.
Who is the perfect candidate:
* Previous healthcare assistant experience working within a clinical setting is essential
* Experience in Ophthalmology is highly desirable
* Provide excellent customer service with the ability to provide personalized assistance to patients.
* Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
* The ability to work under pressure
* System literacy is essential. MS Office is desirable.
* The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
* Driving license and own car essential.

* Min 16 hors per week - usually Tuesdays, Fridays and one Saturday per month
* £14 per hour
