Job Purpose
We have an exciting opportunity within the Proactive Conditioning team to be instrumental in delivering a programme of proactive mains cleaning and cyclic maintenance.
You'll be active in proactive and cyclic work (planned work) – excluding reactive (in day event work). Being a dedicated resource to focus on delivering a more agile and proactive approach to mains cleaning that includes all mains materials, including training to use new innovative methods of mains Cleaning.
You'll provide an agile response to alleviate any developing discolouration issues and to resolve issues for the customer today and minimising further customer impact. You'll be supporting the local asset owners within a predefined geographical area in the delivery of the Distribution Operations Maintenance Strategy (DOMS): Mains conditioning and service conditioning Water Distribution Mains. You'll need to flex geographically dependent on where the work is identified within your predefined hub.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* Operate valves for conditioning work, support incident response with Level 3 approval, and ensure all activities comply with Health & Safety policies. Maintain accurate records via mobile devices and ensure proper site setup in line with NRSWA requirements.
* Carry out proactive mains conditioning, cyclic flushing and cleaning, and service cleaning. Support increased proactive cleaning using the Network SCADA system and DOMS+ Tier 1 process, including targeted removal of deposits in low-flow zones.
* Deliver service clean technology while managing the customer experience. Use effective communication methods such as text alerts or leaflet drops to inform customers of planned works.
* Support planned mains cleaning using new technologies, conduct network risk assessments, and perform flushing after events like bursts. Use hydraulic modelling and turbidity monitors to identify and mitigate discolouration risks.
* Maintain instrumentation, manage equipment using the PODDS methodology, and operate loggers to collect and analyse data. Take appropriate action based on readings to ensure water quality.
Technical Skills & Experience
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships and engage effectively with customers and colleagues.
* Proven experience in delivering high-quality customer service.
* Prior experience in water network operations is essential.
* Competent in using relevant IT systems and software, with the ability to contribute technical and performance insights into the DOMS process when required.
* Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Qualifications
* GCSE grade C or equivalent, relevant City & Guilds or BTEC qualifications, or the ability to demonstrate strong technical and customer service skills.
A full UK driving licence is required to carry out this role
