A client within the Public Sector based in Calderdale is currently recruiting for a Corporate Lead – Highway Management to join their Strategic Infrastructure Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a highways or strategic infrastructure management environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to act as the Council’s Strategic Lead for Highways, ensuring best practice, innovation and value for money to deliver positive environmental, social, and economic change across communities. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Providing effective leadership and direction to a service of approximately 44 professionals responsible for highway network management. Managing annual Highways revenue budgets of over £5 million and a capital works programme of circa £10 million, ensuring financial targets are met. Advising senior managers and elected members on all matters relating to Highways, including policy, legislation and statutory requirements. Overseeing Streetworks and Highways Development functions, ensuring compliance with DfT legislation and effective assessment of major planning applications.
