The Role – EYFS Teaching Assistant (Rotherham Primary School)
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:
1. Support teaching and learning within Nursery or Reception
2. Deliver engaging, play-based learning activities alongside the class teacher
3. Provide 1:1 and small group support, including for children with SEND
4. Support early phonics, communication, and early maths development
5. Help create a stimulating and safe indoor and outdoor learning environment
6. Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
7. Observe and record pupil progress in line with the EYFS Framework
You will play a vital role in helping children feel safe, valued, and excited about learning.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant in Rotherham who:
8. Has experience working in Early Years or a primary school setting
9. Understands the EYFS Framework and child development principles
10. Is patient, nurturing, and energetic
11. Has strong communication and teamwork skills
12. Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification (desirable)
13. Has an enhanced DBS certificate (or is willing to obtain one)
Experience supporting speech and language needs or children with additional needs is highly desirable.
