School Finance Support Officer – 6 month temp – Immediate start We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Schools Finance Support Officer to provide financial guidance and support to schools across Barry. This role is ideal for someone with experience in school finance, public sector budgeting, or financial systems like SIMS and Oracle. Key Responsibilities: Advise Head Teachers, school finance staff, and governing bodies on financial matters Prepare and maintain school budgets, including staffing and operational costs Monitor expenditure and ensure budgetary control Support schools with deficit recovery plans and grant compliance Reconcile school finance systems with council ledgers Assist with year-end account closures and outturn reports Train and support school finance staff in using SIMS and other systems Liaise with internal departments on financial matters Ensure compliance with financial regulations and safeguarding policies Requirements: Experience in financial support or school finance Familiarity with SIMS, FMS, and Oracle systems Strong communication and advisory skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Understanding of public sector financial regulations If you align with this job description, reach out today on 02920 222500. 4726594
