We are working with a global investment management firm. The firm operates through multiple autonomous investment teams overseeing global equities and credit strategies. It maintains offices across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
The firm is seeking a Trader based in London to work closely with global trading colleagues to execute portfolio manager decisions across multiple portfolios.
Responsibilities
Execute EMEA and APAC equity trades across multiple investment strategies.
Utilize various trading strategies including algorithmic execution, alternative trading systems (ATS), multilateral trading facilities (MTFs), and high-touch block trading to achieve best execution.
Provide backup support for equity traders in other global offices.
Assist in trading European and global high yield strategies.
Participate in transaction cost analysis (TCA) processes, leveraging data insights to enhance execution quality and reduce transaction costs.
Recommend and support implementation of process improvements to increase efficiency and mitigate operational and trading risks.
Provide investment teams with timely market, product, and process-related updates.
Maintain comprehensive trading records, including activity logs, process exceptions, and error resolution documentation.
Develop and maintain relationships with sell-side brokers to support best execution practices.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors on data-related initiatives.
Partner with Operations on cash flows, trade operations, and settlements.
Serve as the primary point of contact for MiFID transaction reporting via a third-party reporting platform, including exception monitoring and resolution.
Qualifications
3–10 years of experience trading global equities with strong knowledge of global equity markets.
Emerging Markets experience preferred; Global High Yield bond experience a plus.
Demonstrated understanding of global market structure, electronic trading, and securities trading across varying market capitalizations and liquidity profiles.
Experience with trade order and portfolio management systems (e.g., Charles River, Allvue, or similar platforms).
Advanced proficiency in Excel, SharePoint, and market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, MarketAxess, or equivalent).
