Job Description:
Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer the Director of Global Airworthiness will hold the responsibility for the day-to-day operation and supervision of the Central Technical Services Team and coordination of Airworthiness matters with Regional Nominated Post Holders.
The role will hold is responsible for ensuring the continued airworthiness of the Bristow fleet, compliance with Continuing Airworthiness regulations and Bristow policy.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Management and supervision of the Central Technical Services Team and activities.
2. Provide senior management with a technical overview of incidents
3. Recommendations for improvements within the organisation related to Continuing Airworthiness and Maintenance Management
4. Oversight of Technical support and Liaison with OEM’s. Prepare data for and attend review meetings with OEMs to improve aircraft reliability and availability.
5. Ensure maintenance programs are reviewed and updated in a timely manner and configured to optimise the maintenance on the aircraft
6. Production and amendment of company technical documentation
7. Manage required updates to company expositions and Airworthiness Management procedures manuals to ensure continued compliance
8. Oversight of Component reliability analysis
9. Review of reliability reports and follow up with OEMs for product improvement.
10. Application of Lean concepts to streamline and continuously improve processes. Review, seek and promote continuous improvement of Airworthiness Management, processes and systems.
11. Leads, from an Airworthiness Management perspective, and in support of Fleet Management & individual Business Units (BU), on evaluating and determining standardisation of aircraft fit, role equipment.
12. Provides technical support toward financial decision-making related to Airworthiness Management
13. Supporting Business development teams with bid proposals where required.
14. Providing support to the organisation regarding client liaison related to Airworthiness matters.
15. Ensuring accurate and standardised management of aircraft configuration requirements
16. Through the Fleet Engineering Specialists, provides expert guidance to the BUs, on issues which are specific to aircraft type. Also, provide technical expertise to the business (Fleet Management & BUs) for evaluating new aircraft introductions to the fleet.
17. Ensuring the Bristow Fleet always remains compliant with Airworthiness Management regulations
18. Standardisation of Global Airworthiness Review Process
19. Ensuring efficient and accurate upkeep of aircraft Technical Records to a global standard as far as reasonably practical.
20. Attend seminars and industry conferences that are appropriate to the role and represent the Company on various industry committees and panels, e.g., EASA, MRSG, CAA, etc.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: (minimum education requirements, key skills and experience)
Qualifications:
21. Batchelors Degree of Engineering or Management
22. Licensed engineer with extensive maintenance and airworthiness knowledge
Experience:
23. 10 plus years of experience as airworthiness/maintenance manager
24. In-depth knowledge of aircraft types operated by the company
25. Knowledge of regulatory requirements
26. Experience with the regulatory framework of both Part M, Part CAMO, and Part 145. Knowledge and understanding of other regional regulatory frameworks
27. SAP/IFS experience
