We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Marketing on an initial 6 month fixed-term contract to help drive this next chapter.
This is a rare opportunity to lead high‑impact marketing strategy at the heart of the UK’s energy transition. Working closely with the Director of Corporate Affairs, you will co‑develop and deliver innovative, insight‑led marketing that strengthens relationships with major energy suppliers, supports new product and market launches, and positions Calisen as a sector‑leading voice.
About the Role
As Head of Marketing, you will shape and execute marketing strategies that deepen customer relationships, promote innovation, and support Calisen’s growth into new markets and services. You’ll play a central role in delivering the company’s Corporate Affairs strategy, building Calisen’s profile, and ensuring our voice is influential across the energy ecosystem.
This role is ideal for a strategic, values‑led marketing leader who thrives in fast‑moving environments and is motivated by work that contributes to societal change.
Key Responsibilities
1. Corporate Affairs Strategy Delivery — Lead the execution of Calisen’s Corporate Affairs strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and sector developments.
2. Strategic Growth Support — Support the rollout of a refreshed corporate strategy focused on 100% smart meter uptake, expansion into water metering, technology solutions and skills development for the energy transition.
3. External Relationship Building — Strengthen Calisen’s position as a strategic partner to major energy suppliers and industry bodies.
4. Market Profile & Reputation — Build a strong, positive presence for Calisen across customers, government agencies, communities and industry stakeholders.
5. Brand Leadership — Ensure Calisen is recognised as the UK’s leading smart metering provider — and support ambitions to take this leadership into international markets.
6. Thought Leadership & Content — Develop a pipeline of industry‑leading insight, policy innovation and compelling content that elevates Calisen’s voice.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
7. Degree‑level education (essential).
8. CIM accreditation or evidence of ongoing CPD (essential).
Knowledge & Expertise
9. Proven track record delivering marketing strategies that have moved the dial in the energy sector, ideally including technology transformation.
10. Experience delivering campaigns that drive societal change.
11. Strong values‑led approach with excellent governance and risk awareness.
Experience
12. Extensive experience managing and strengthening relationships with senior, technically expert external stakeholders.
13. Highly regarded at management‑team level for delivering successful, high‑impact campaigns.
Technical Competencies
14. Background in technology (desirable).
15. Strong understanding of the energy transition, geopolitical influences and associated risks (desirable).
