Overview of Role
We are looking for a Safety Case Engineer to join the Energy Unit Power, Process & Nuclear division, covering nuclear power generation, naval nuclear programme and decommissioning.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain Safety Case production (SJP, PCSR, PRS)
* Submit modification and design change submissions
* Support decommissioning activities
* Conduct Functional Safety Assessment and ALARP assessment
* Interact with regulatory interfaces
* Assess deterministic and probabilistic safety
* Provide nuclear safety legislation and policy expertise
* Substantiate engineering and conduct HAZOP, HAZAN, and criticality studies
* Manage nuclear fire safety
Candidate Specification
* Degree in a Science, Technology or Engineering discipline
* Experience in nuclear or defence industries (high‑hazard experience acceptable)
* Chartered Engineer status or working toward it
* Demonstrated delivery of nuclear safety deliverables on complex projects
* Ability to develop and mentor junior staff
* Eligibility for security clearance
