Job Description
This is a guide to the work you will be required to undertake. It may be changed from time to time by the College to meet changing circumstances.
Conditions of Service
The appointment is subject to the Conditions of Service for Business Support Staff.
All successful applicants will undergo the following checks:
* Enhanced DBS
* 2 x References, one of which must be your current or most recent employer
* Qualification validation check
Salary
The salary range is from £32,333 to £34,974 per annum. Your starting salary will depend on your qualifications and experience. Upon passing your probation, your salary will increase annually within the salary band until the top is reached.
Hours of Work
37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
Annual Leave
25 days plus 8 public holidays and 5 discretionary days. After 2 years, entitlement increases to 30 days. Leave of more than 3 consecutive weeks requires Director approval in exceptional circumstances.
Pension Scheme
The College offers the Local Government Pension Scheme.
Probationary Period
9 months, including mandatory induction and training sessions. Failure to complete these may prevent successful completion of probation.
References
Two satisfactory references are required.
Location
The successful applicant will be based at Cross College but may work at other locations.
Qualification Validation
The College will verify essential qualifications with educational institutes.
Contractual Qualification Requirement
Funding for required qualifications is subject to annual budget availability. Student loans are available.
Maths and English
Minimum Level 2 qualification in both is required. If not already obtained, it must be acquired during employment.
Safeguarding
The College is committed to safeguarding and all staff will undertake relevant training during probation.
Online Checks
Applicants shortlisted and successful in the recruitment process will undergo online checks prior to employment.
Disclosure & Barring Check
Successful applicants will pay for a DBS check, with costs deducted from the first salary.
Recruitment of Ex-Offenders

Training
Mandatory training and development are required for all staff, including Health & Safety.
