Bid Manager – Civils | Hybrid Working Exeter-based with regional travel Civils Projects up to £15m Hybrid: Up to 2 days WFH Full-Time | Permanent A Tier 1 civil engineering contractor is seeking a dynamic Bid Manager to lead all aspects of the pre-construction phase, including pre-tender, live tender, and post-tender activity. With a strong pipeline of infrastructure and highways projects across the Southwest — typically up to £15m in value — this is a pivotal role that will shape our success in securing and mobilising new work. What You'll Do Own and lead the tender pipeline across the Southwest region Align bid strategy with business goals and ensure resourcing is effective Oversee bid content including CVs, case studies, social value, and ESG data Manage tender governance and internal sign-off processes Support subcontractor engagement and tender analysis Capture and share client feedback to drive continuous improvement Facilitate post-award client meetings and pre-commencement engagement Ensure smooth handovers to delivery teams and contribute to early-stage planning ✅ What You’ll Bring Strong pre-construction, estimating or bid management experience in the construction industry — preferably within highways or civils Excellent client-facing skills with a commercial mindset Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in a fast-paced environment Confidence with CRM systems and structured governance processes A full UK driving licence Experience leading business transformation or process improvement initiatives This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives at the front end of project lifecycles and wants to influence how major civils projects are secured and mobilised.
