Overview
The Jenny Lind Children's Hospital, NNUH, is seeking one substantive 10PA consultant in paediatric respiratory medicine. The successful appointee will help shape the developments of this well-established unit and support the East of England CF network and regional respiratory services. The post comprises 10 Programmed Activities (10PA) of which 1.5 SPA and 8.5 PA of clinical work. The clinical work will include specialized cystic fibrosis and respiratory work, and some general Paediatric acute work.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work with colleagues in paediatric respiratory medicine, paediatric medicine, surgery and neonatology to provide respiratory support to inpatients and outpatients in the Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital. They will collaborate with colleagues at CUH to develop closer clinical, research and training links, as lead centres within the regional Paediatric Respiratory and Cystic Fibrosis services. NNUH is a recognised specialist centre for Cystic Fibrosis. The appointee will provide inpatient and outpatient care for patients with respiratory disease. The appointee may not be expected to have any on call commitment to acute paediatric medicine, which is subject to discussion. There is currently no sub-specialty on-call cover included in this post, although a more regional approach may be developed in the future.

Person Specification
Essential
* Full GMC
* MRCPCH or equivalent
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via: CCT in paediatrics OR Equivalent (Proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview)
Desirable
* Higher degree such as MD, MSc or PhD
* CCT in respiratory paediatrics
Essential Experience
* Equivalence to the 5 years training period in the NHS for overseas applicants
* Demonstrable knowledge and commitment to a career in paediatric respiratory medicine
* 2 years paediatric respiratory training or experience in a tertiary centre (GRID/SPIN or equivalent encouraged)
* Competent in management of inpatients and outpatients with respiratory conditions or CF
* EPLS or APLS certification
* Training to level 3 safeguarding and experience at Specialist Registrar or Consultant level
Desirable Experience
* Previous experience at consultant level
* Expertise in CF
* Recent experience with CFTR modulating therapy
* Experience in sleep studies
